A community organizer's treasure trove should have this piece of wisdom. The tendency of people imprisoned in the poverty mindset and this is not only true with those who are materially poor,is to dream of an external person to do the miracle of achieving the much desired release from suffering. Gandhi taught that the power to create change is not from outside. It is there inside one's will. Community Organizing is helping people help themselves retrieve that will (one's power within oneself) that have been buried deep down in one's consciousness by material poverty or by other kinds of poverty.
